Regular Season Round 4: Tours - Poitiers 82-83

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Poitiers and 12th ranked Tours had identical 1-2 record. But Tours was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Poitiers 83-82 on Tuesday night. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-1988, college: Colorado) who scored that evening 23 points and point guard Marius Chambre (182-1998) supported him with 18 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Even 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by Polish point guard Jakub Schenk (184-1994) did not help to save the game for Tours. Swingman Pierre-Etienne Drouault (196-1990) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Poitiers (2-2) moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Tours keeps the twelfth position with three games lost. They share it with Berck. Poitiers will meet at home higher ranked Toulouse (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tours will play against CFBB (#14) in Paris and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
