The game had a very big importance for second-ranked BC Lulea as it allowed them to take a leadership position. BC Lulea edged bottom-ranked Kalmar at home 89-87. BC Lulea looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Brendan Bailey (203-1997, college: Marquette) who scored 30 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Jonatan Arvidsson (184-1998, college: E.Wyoming) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-1989) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and center Tobias Sjoberg (205-1997, college: Marist) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Four BC Lulea and five Kalmar players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BC Lulea have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Boras. Newly promoted Kalmar still closes the standings with four games lost. Kalmar will play next round against Norrkoping trying to get back on the winning streak. BC Lulea will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Jamtland in Ostersund.
