Regular Season Round 4: Haukar - Grindavik 74-62

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Haukar (3-1) beat 6th ranked Grindavik (1-3) in Hafnarfjordur 74-62 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. Grindavik managed to win third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Haukar looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American guard Keira Robinson (170-1994, college: VCU) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and the former international forward Eva Kristjansdottir (186-1997) supported her with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Danielle Rodriguez (177-1993, college: Utah) did not help to save the game for Grindavik. Slovenian forward Elma Dautovic (187-2001, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Four Grindavik players scored in double figures. Haukar maintains second position with 3-1 record behind leader Keflavik, which they share with Njardvik. Grindavik lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Breidablik. Haukar will meet Fjolnir (#4) in the next round. Grindavik will play against Valur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
