Regular Season Round 4: Valur - Keflavik 75-78

Important game to mention about took place in Reykjavik. Top-ranked Keflavik (4-0) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th ranked Valur (2-2) 78-75 on Wednesday evening. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 28-19 run, which allowed them to win the game. Keflavik forced 23 Valur turnovers. Strangely Valur outrebounded Keflavik 37-25 including 22 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Venezuelan Daniela Wallen (179-1995, college: Okla City) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals and Bulgarian point guard Karina Konstantinova (173-1999, agency: Elite Basketball Agents) who added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Kiana Johnson (171-1993, college: Virginia Union) responded with 22 points and 7 assists and the former international forward Asta Grimsdottir (185-2001, college: HBU) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds. Keflavik have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Valur at the other side keeps the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Fjolnir. Keflavik will play against bottom-ranked IR (#8) in Reykjavik in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valur will play on the road against Grindavik (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
