Ponferrada used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Melilla 98-78 on Wednesday night. Ponferrada forced 19 Melilla turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Alejandro Jorda (193-1995, college: Cuesta JC) who scored 17 points and 5 steals. Senegalese forward Omar Lo (206-1997, college: CBU) chipped in 15 points. Four Ponferrada players scored in double figures. American forward Adam Fravert (203, college: UW-Oshkosh) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Carlos Poyatos (207-1994) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ponferrada will meet at home Navarra in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Melilla will play against Tormes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
