Banovici used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Zagreb 63-53 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Banovici. Zagreb managed to win third quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Banovici held Zagreb to an opponent 21.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Banovici forced 20 Zagreb turnovers. Strangely Zagreb outrebounded Banovici 47-30 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. At the losing side center Lea Marsic (184-2003) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and forward Lea Miletic (184-1995) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Banovici will meet Duga in the next round. Zagreb will play against Montana and hope to win that game.
