The game in Gomel supposed to be also quite interesting. Top-ranked Gorizont (3-0) played at the court of 6th ranked Gomel (1-3). Gorizont smashed Gomel 87-49 on Wednesday. Gorizont dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Gomel's 30. They outrebounded Gomel 47-34 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gorizont looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Volha Ziuzkova (171-1983) who scored that evening 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian forward Latinka Dusanic (175-1990) supported her with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 12 points and 6 rebounds by point guard Ilona Katsyro (170-2005) did not help to save the game for Gomel. Swingman Yana Paraschenko (177-2005) added 6 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gorizont have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Tsmoki-Minsk. Loser Gomel keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with RGUOR. Gorizont will meet at home Victoria (#5) in the next round. Gomel will have a break next round.
