Regular Season Round 2: Stjarnan - Keflavik 86-92

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Stjarnan at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Keflavik 92-86. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-86. Keflavik made 19-of-19 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Keflavik outrebounded Stjarnan 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-1992, college: St.Rose, NY) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican guard Eric Ayala (196-1999, college: Maryland) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. Keflavik's coach Hjalti Vilhjalmsson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Robert Turner III (190-1993, college: Texas Tech, agency: Interperformances) produced 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Lithuanian power forward Julius Jucikas (204-1989, agency: BIG) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Keflavik is looking forward to face Grindavik at home in the next round where they are favorite. Stjarnan will play against IR in Reykjavik and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
