Regular Season Round 2: Pyrinto Ak.B - PuHu Juniorit 63-86

There was no surprise in Tampere where Pyrinto Ak.B was crushed by PuHu Juniorit 86-63 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by PuHu Juniorit. Pyrinto Ak.B managed to win fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PuHu Juniorit dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Pyrinto Ak.B's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Pyrinto Ak.B's players. Forward Aku Valimaki (194-2001) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Samuel Valtonen (199-2002) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four PuHu Juniorit players scored in double figures. Ukrainian center Kostiantyn Prokopenko (207) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Aaron Montonen (192-2005) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. PuHu Juniorit will meet at home Team Pajulahti in the next round. Pyrinto Ak.B will play against MuKi in Helsinki and hope to win that game.
