Regular Season Round 4: Korihait - Kotka 99-105
Date: October 14, 2022
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Kotka (3-1) beat 8th ranked Korihait (1-3) in Uusikaupunki 105-99 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-16. But Korihait won second period 28-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kotka made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American forward Jordan Giles (198-1998, college: UMKC, agency: One Motive Sports) who scored that evening 22 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Brandon Tabb (193-1995, college: BCU) supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Tabb is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 13 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists by Bosnian point guard Bojan Sarcevic (190-1988) did not help to save the game for Korihait. Guard Trey Niemi (185-1998) added 17 points and 8 assists for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Kotka moved-up to second place, which they share with Kobrat. Loser Korihait dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. They share it with Vilpas. Kotka will meet at home league's leader Nokia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Korihait will play against Lahti (#4) and hope to win that game.
