Regular Season Round 2: Haukar - Thor Thorl 90-84

Rather expected game in Hafnarfjordur where Thor Thorl was defeated by Haukar 90-84 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Thor Thorl won third quarter 20-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Haukar won last quarter 23-19. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Lithuanian power forward Norbertas Giga (208-1995, college: JSU) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Hilmar Henningsson (195-2000) chipped in 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Canadian forward Alonzo Walker (198-1996, college: Portland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Spanish forward Pablo Hernandez (201-1997, college: MBU, agency: Promo Sport ID) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Haukar will meet KR in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Thor Thorl will play against Hottur and hope to win that game.
