There was an upset when 3rd placed STB Le Havre (3-2) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Pontoise (2-3) 81-72 on Friday. Pontoise forced 24 STB Le Havre turnovers. Strangely STB Le Havre outrebounded Pontoise 51-27 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Darhius Nunn (175-1998, college: PBA) who scored 23 points and 4 steals. Guard Johan Randriamananjara (199-2000) chipped in 17 points and 5 steals. Four Pontoise players scored in double figures. Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-1995) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and power forward Mickael Var (206-1990, agency: BIG) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. STB Le Havre's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pontoise moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser STB Le Havre dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Pontoise will meet at home league's second-placed SOPCC in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
