Very predictable result when top-ranked Mickiewicz (4-0) won against on the road 10th ranked Gliwice 2 (1-3) 111-94 on Saturday. Mickiewicz dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Gliwice 2's 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Gliwice 2's players. The winners were led by power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-1983) who scored that evening 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Jakub Strozczyk (196-1999) supported him with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Mickiewicz players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 7 rebounds by swingman Aleksander Busz (202-2004) did not help to save the game for Gliwice 2. Guard Igor Krzych (182-2003) added 20 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mickiewicz have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C with 4-0 record, which they share with Przemysl. Gliwice 2 lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Mickiewicz will meet at home Bielsko-Biala (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Gliwice 2 will play against Cracovia (#9) in Krakow and hope to win that game.
