But Monaco was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Charnay-les-Macon 67-56 on Saturday night. Charnay forced 20 Monaco turnovers. American guard Amber Melgoza (178-1998, college: Washington) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Mali center Kankou Coulibaly (187-1990, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) chipped in 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Charnay players scored in double figures. Charnay's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Ashunae Durant (178, college: Hofstra) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and center Eve Wembanyama (185-2001) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Charnay will meet at home Champagne in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Monaco will play against SIG in llkirch-Graff. and hope to win that game.
