Regular Season Round 5: Poitiers - Toulouse 72-73

The most exciting game of round 5 in the NM1 took place in Poitiers. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Poitiers (2-3) to third ranked Toulouse (4-1) 73-72 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Toulouse forced 20 Poitiers turnovers. Swingman Olivier Yao-Delon (194-1995) stepped up and scored 21 points for the winners and forward Thibaud Gottin (200-1999) chipped in 12 points. Four Toulouse players scored in double figures. American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-1988, college: Colorado) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and Ivorian center Bali Coulibaly (199-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Toulouse keeps a position of Group A leader, which they share with Rennes and Chartres. Poitiers at the other side dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Toulouse is looking forward to face Rueil (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Poitiers will play against Lorient (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
