Regular Season Round 3: Alfinden - Martorell 82-76

There was a surprise result in Zaragoza where Alfinden (1-2) won against Martorell (1-2) 82-76 on Saturday. Alfinden made 28-of-33 free shots (84.8 percent) during the game, while Martorell only scored nine points from the stripe. It was a great evening for Jose Antonio Malo who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). American forward Martin Smith (196-1993, college: Lipscomb) helped adding 20 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Miquel Aliaga (189-1999) with 27 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Albert Valle (181-1992) scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Martorell's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Alfinden will meet Mataro Parc (#10) on the road in the next round. Martorell will play against Mataro UE and hope to win that game.
