Regular Season Round 4: Zgierz - Notec Inowr. 76-94

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Notec Inowr. and 14th ranked Zgierz had identical 1-2 record. But Zgierz was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Inowroclaw 94-76 on Saturday night. Notec Inowr. made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Zgierz only scored eleven points from the stripe. The winners were led by Mikolaj Grod (194-1989) who scored that evening 18 points and 7 rebounds and Piotr Robak (194-1991) supported him with 18 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). Even 20 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) by guard Robert Kowalski (178-1988) did not help to save the game for Zgierz. Guard Hubert Lewandowski (192-1997) added 11 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Five Notec Inowr. and four Zgierz players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Notec Inowr. maintains eighth position in Group A with 2-2 record, which they share with Trefl 2 and Pabianice. Zgierz lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Notec Inowr. will meet higher ranked Ksiezak (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zgierz will play against LKS Lodz 2 (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
