Regular Season Round 2: La Spezia - Battipaglia 68-63

There was a minor upset when Battipaglia was defeated on the road by La Spezia 68-63 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was power forward Silvia Colognesi (182-2002, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Nancy N'Guessan (177-2003) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists. Naturalized American forward Bree Alford (183-1996, college: LMU) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and point guard Raffaella Potolicchio (165-1990) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. La Spezia will meet at home San Salvatore in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Battipaglia will play against Empoli and will have a slim chance for a victory.
