Regular Season Round 4: Umea 2 - RIG Lulea 87-62

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of RIG Lulea (2-1) on the court of top-ranked Umea 2 on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Umea 2 87-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of RIG Lulea. It was a key game for the second position in North. Umea 2 forced 21 RIG Lulea turnovers. Strangely RIG Lulea outrebounded Umea 2 45-28 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Emil Haglund (201-1996) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Calvin Jagare (-1999) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Kirat Singh (193-2004) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and forward Anton Fontin (201-2006) scored 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Umea 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in North. RIG Lulea at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with Aros. Umea 2 are looking forward to face Aros (#3) in Vasteras in the next round, which may be the game of the day. RIG Lulea will have a break next round.
