There was a surprise result when Udine edged on the road Broni 69-68 on Sunday. They outrebounded Broni 42-31 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Sara Ronchi (183-2003) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Giorgia Bovenzi (165-2002) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Swedish forward Amanda Kantzy (186-1996, college: Albany) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Giulia Manzotti (178-1993) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Broni's coach Michael Magagnoli tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Udine will meet at home Bolzano BC in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Broni will play against Treviso and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Serie A1 just one year after relegation.
