No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Torpan Pojat (4-1) crushed 6th ranked Vimpelin Veto (2-3) in Helsinki 79-47 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Torpan Pojat led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vimpelin Veto to just 2 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. Torpan Pojat held Vimpelin Veto to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Torpan Pojat forced 19 Vimpelin Veto turnovers and had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Iimari Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-1977, college: Xavier) accounted for 7 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Torpan Pojat have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Loser Vimpelin Veto keeps the sixth position with three games lost.
