Regular Season Round 8: Uppsala - Kalmar 85-65

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when bottom-ranked Kalmar (0-6) was crushed on the road by eleventh ranked Uppsala (1-6) 85-65 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Viktor Gaddefors (201-1992, agency: 011 Sports) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Jordan Shepherd (193, college: California) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Uppsala's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Tobias Sjoberg (205-1997, college: Marist) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-1989) added 11 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Uppsala left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Kalmar's sixth loss in a row. Kalmar at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with six games lost. Uppsala will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kalmar will play against the league's leader Boras (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
