Very important is a road loss of Estudiantes (2-2) against Valencia (2-2) on Thursday night. Visiting Estudiantes was defeated by Valencia in a tough game in Valencia 72-79. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Leticia Romero (173-1995, college: FSU) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-1992) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. American forward Nadia Fingall (191-1998, college: Stanford) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and center Maria Eraunzetamurgil (185-1998, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Estudiantes in the defeat. Four Estudiantes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valencia will play against Araski (#12) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Estudiantes will play at home against Barca CBS (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
