Regular Season Round 6: Caen - Hyeres-Toulon 92-78

Bottom-ranked Hyeres-Toulon (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-78 loss to eighth ranked Caen (3-3) in Caen. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hyeres-Toulon's 32. Caen forced 21 Hyeres-Toulon turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for swingman Florian Thibedore (193-1990) who led his team to a victory with 17 points. Naturalized DR Congolese point guard Carl Ona-Embo (188-1989) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Ona-Embo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Caen's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Haitian point guard Cliff Colimon (182-1989, college: EWU) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Doume Pierrick Moukenga (203-1987) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hyeres-Toulon. Five Caen and four Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. Caen moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with Besancon and Cergy-Pontoise. Newly promoted Hyeres-Toulon still closes the standings with seven games lost. Caen will play against higher ranked SOPCC (#5) in Pont de Cheruy in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hyeres-Toulon will play at home against Feurs CTC (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
