Regular Season Round 6: Pyrinto - Kouvot 79-98

Another exciting game was played in Tampere between seventh ranked Kouvot and 8th ranked Pyrinto where Kouvot (3-2) crushed Pyrinto (2-3) on the road with 19-point difference 98-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pyrinto. The game without a history. Kouvot led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was a good game for American guard Austin Butler (196, college: Charlotte) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Joel Mantynen (199-2002) contributed with 27 points for the winners. Four Kouvot players scored in double figures. American guard LJ Thorpe (196-1999, college: UNC Asheville) replied with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import forward Daytone Jennings (206-1997, college: CSUSB) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Pyrinto. Pyrinto's coach Miikka Sopanen rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kouvot moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kataja and Kauhajoki. Pyrinto at the other side keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Kouvot will play against league's leader Kobrat in Lapua in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pyrinto will play on the road against Kotka (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
