Regular Season Round 5: Czarni - Slask 75-77

Important game to mention about took place in Slupsk. Leader WKS Slask (5-0) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Czarni (3-2) 77-75 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Czarni. WKS Slask brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. Czarni was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Jeremiah Martin (189-1996, college: Memphis) stepped up and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Aleksander Dziewa (205-1997) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. American Shavon Coleman (195-1992, college: LSU) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Mikolaj Witlinski (207-1995) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Czarni's coach Mantas Cesnauskis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. WKS Slask have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record. Czarni at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. WKS Slask will play against Twarde Pierniki (#15) in Torun in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Czarni will play on the road against Legia (#10) in Warszawa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
