Regular Season Round 4: Helios - Navas 47-92

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Helios (0-4) was smashed by tenth ranked Navas (2-2) in Zaragoza 92-47 on Saturday. Navas held Helios to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Helios 50-34 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Albert Planell (-2002) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and Eddy Sims (-1998) supported him with 20 points. Five Navas players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by Alejandro Abad (-2002) did not help to save the game for Helios. Eduardo Ibanez (191-2003) added 9 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Navas moved-up to sixth place in Group C-2, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Helios still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Esparreguera and SESE. Navas will meet at home Igualada (#10) in the next round. Helios will play against SESE in Barcelona and hopes to get finally their first victory.
