Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kotka (4-2) against seventh ranked Kauhajoki (3-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Kotka was defeated by Kauhajoki in a tough game in Kauhajoki 95-100. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kotka. Kauhajoki looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Kotka's players. American guard Cameron Jones (193-1989, college: NAU, agency: BIG) scored 24 points and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Severi Kaukiainen (185-1998, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 18 points and 9 assists during the contest. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The best for the losing side was American guard Brandon Tabb (193-1995, college: BCU) with 36 points (!!!) and his fellow American import forward Jordan Giles (198-1998, college: UMKC, agency: One Motive Sports) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Kotka players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kouvot and Kataja. Loser Kotka keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Lahti. Kauhajoki will meet league's second-placed Lahti on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kotka will play against Pyrinto and hope to secure a win.
