There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Empoli (0-4) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Ancona (2-2) 75-66 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Lorenzo Panzini (185-1990) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and Tommaso Carnovali (196-1993, agency: SLN) who added 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international swingman Andrea Casella (195-1990) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and center Anfernee Hidalgo (180-1996) scored 9 points and 7 assists. Empoli's coach Luca Valentino rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ancona moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Empoli still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with R.Calabria. Ancona will meet at home Matelica (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Empoli will play against Firenze and hopes to get finally their first victory.
