There was no surprise in Corneliano d'Alba where bottom-ranked Langhe Roero (0-4) was defeated by seventh ranked Sangiorgese (3-1) 73-55 on Saturday. Sangiorgese outrebounded Langhe Roero 48-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Matteo Airaghi (192-1996) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Nicolo Bertocco (198-1995) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Sangiorgese players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Giorgio Manna (198-2004) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Matteo Corgnati (186-2004) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sangiorgese moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Vicenza. Loser Langhe Roero still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with R.Calabria. Sangiorgese will meet at home Legnano K. (#6) in the next round. Langhe Roero will play against Livorno Libertas (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
