Regular Season Round 5: Inter Bratislava - Handlova 77-72

Very expected game when 7th ranked Handlova (1-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Inter Bratislava (3-2) 77-72 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Inter Bratislava well out of reach of Handlova shooting 180.0 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Inter Bratislava especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 81.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian Jonas Zakas (190-1997) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-0 shooting from the field). Lithuanian center Tomas Zdanavicius (203-1996) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. American swingman Elizjah Scott (198-1999, college: LMU) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-1 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Deleon Brown (190-1997, college: GVSU) added 24 points (on 9-of-4 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Inter Bratislava moved-up to second place, which they share with Spisski Rytieri and Komarno. Handlova lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. Inter Bratislava will meet at home Komarno (#4) in the next round. Handlova will play against the league's leader Levice (#1) and hope to win that game.
