Regular Season Round 2: Vichy Clermont - Saint Vallier 98-89

There was a minor upset when Saint Vallier was defeated on the road by JA Vichy 98-89 on Saturday. JA Vichy outrebounded Saint Vallier 41-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) scored 32 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Leopold Delaunay (193-2001) chipped in 14 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. American point guard Jazzmarr Ferguson (185-1989, college: IU Southeast) responded with 15 points and 4 assists and center Alexis Thomas (208-1995) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. JA Vichy will meet Boulazac Basket on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saint Vallier will play against Chalon/Saor and hope to win that game.
