Regular Season Round 3: HNMKY - ToPo Juniorit 66-91

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Helsinki: ToPo Juniorit (#6) and HNMKY (#3). HNMKY was crushed at home by 25 points 66-91 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of HNMKY. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-66. ToPo Juniorit dominated on the defensive end, holding HNMKY to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. ToPo Juniorit looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by HNMKY's players. It was a great evening for guard Leo Nordberg (185-2004) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Eldar Skamo (198-1986) helped adding 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Five ToPo Juniorit players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Erik Waxlax (175-1999) with 15 points and forward Eric Chime (187-2004) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. ToPo Juniorit will meet at home Oulun Bball (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. HNMKY will play against Jyvaskyla BA (#7) and hope to secure a win.
