Regular Season Round 3: PeU-Basket - HyPo 83-73

PeU-Basket used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Hyvinkaa 83-73 on Sunday night. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. PeU-Basket outrebounded HyPo 47-36 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Tyrell Carroll (180, college: Angelo St.) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 6 assists and 4 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Tommi Huolila (198) accounted for 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Four PeU-Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Kalle Mattila (199-2005) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Roy Hinkkanen (182-1997) added 18 points respectively for HyPo in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PeU-Basket will meet Raholan P. (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. HyPo will play against Karkkila and hope to win that game.
