Regular Season Round 3: Araski - Gran Canaria 67-82

There was a minor upset in Vitoria-Gasteiz where Araski (2-2) was defeated by Gran Canaria (2-2) 82-67 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Mali power forward Sika Kone (190-2002) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Czech guard Petra Holesinska (178-1997, college: UNC) chipped in 21 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Dutch guard Natalie Van Den Adel (185-1990, college: Colorado St.) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-1996, college: Temple) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Gran Canaria will meet at home IDK Eustotren (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Araski will play against Valencia (#11) and hope to secure a win.
