Regular Season Round 5: WKK 2 - Slask 3 68-91

There was a minor upset in Wroclaw where higher ranked WKK 2 (1-4) was outplayed by sixteenth ranked Slask 3 (1-4) 91-68 on Sunday. Slask 3 dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to WKK 2's 20. They outrebounded WKK 2 48-28 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Slask 3 looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was center Karol Kankowski (202-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Kuba Pisla (197-2004) chipped in 19 points. Guard Joshua Ashaolu (180-2005) produced 12 points and center Maksymilian Karwik (207-2005) added 7 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Slask 3 left bottom position moving up to eleventh place in Group D, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated WKK 2. Slask 3 will meet at home league's second-placed Miedzychod in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. WKK 2 will play against Koscian (#6) and hope to win that game.
