Regular Season Round 3: Leppavaaran P. - Raholan P. 61-54

Leppavaaran P. used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Tampere 61-54 on Sunday night. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. Leppavaaran P. dominated on the defensive end, holding Raholan P. to just 6 points in second quarter. Leppavaaran P. forced 26 Raholan P. turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for forward Samppa Maki (193-2001) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Riku Korhonen (192-2004) accounted for 14 points and 5 steals for the winning side. Four Leppavaaran P. players scored in double figures. Bulgarian guard Angel Mavrodiev (183-1991) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Miro Kollanen (185-2002) added 4 points and 6 assists respectively for Raholan P. in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leppavaaran P. will meet Westside ET (#7) in the next round. Raholan P. will play against PeU-Basket and hope to win that game.
