Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Caja Rural (0-4) lost to ninth ranked Ontinet (2-2) in Ontinyent 66-80 on Sunday. The winners were led by Sergio Gomez (-2000) who scored that evening 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Dutch forward Lawrence Slim (201-1998, college: Flagler) supported him with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Even 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by Nigerian forward Precious Uzamere (200-1996) did not help to save the game for Caja Rural. Center Pablo Gomez (-2001) added 18 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ontinet moved-up to sixth place in Group E-B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Caja Rural still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Jorge Juan. Ontinet will meet league's second-placed Molina on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Caja Rural will play against UAF Lucentum (#4) in Alicante and hopes to get finally their first victory.
