Regular Season Round 5: LKS Polit. Lodz - Zgierz 52-80

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Zgierz and 11th ranked LKS Lodz 2 had identical 1-3 record. But LKS Lodz 2 was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Zgierz 80-52 on Sunday night. Zgierz dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to LKS Lodz 2's 30. Zgierz forced 22 LKS Lodz 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 52-29 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Hubert Lewandowski (192-1997) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Mateusz Cwirko-Godycki (195-1999) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Kacper Koc (187-2004) produced 16 points and Tomasz Kwiecinski (187-2003) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zgierz (2-3) moved-up to ninth place in Group A, which they share with Notec Inowr. and Pabianice. LKS Lodz 2 lost their fourth game in a row. LKS Lodz 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. They share it with AMW Gdynia. Zgierz will meet at home TKM Wloclawek (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. LKS Lodz 2 will play against Notec Inowr. in Inowroclaw and hope to win that game.
