Regular Season Round 9: Norrkoping - BC Lulea 80-78

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Basketligan took place in Norrkoping. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best BC Lulea (5-2) to fifth ranked Norrkoping (4-1) 80-78 on Monday evening. Norrkoping dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to BC Lulea's 28. The best player for the winners was international power forward Nicholas Spires (210-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. American forward James Murray-Boyles (201-1997, college: UNCP, agency: Players Group) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Jonatan Arvidsson (184-1998, college: E.Wyoming) who recorded 22 points and 7 assists and American forward Brendan Bailey (203-1997, college: Marquette) added 21 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BC Lulea's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Norrkoping have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. BC Lulea at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Norrkoping are looking forward to face Umea (#5) on the road in the next round. BC Lulea will play against Nassjo and is hoping to win this game.
