The game in Minsk supposed to be also quite interesting. Leader Olimpia (6-0) played at the court of 8th ranked Gorizont 2 (1-6). Olimpia smashed Gorizont 2 102-56 on Tuesday. Olimpia dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Gorizont 2's 32. Olimpia forced 25 Gorizont 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 52-27 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Gorizont 2's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Olimpia made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Katsiaryna Novik (179-2005) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 4 assists. Center Palina Damianiak (190-2005) accounted for 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Guard Alisa Liskova (167-2006) came up with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Alisa Borschevskaya added 9 points and 5 steals respectively for Gorizont 2 in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Olimpia. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gorizont. Loser Gorizont 2 keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Olimpia will meet league's leader Gorizont in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gorizont 2 will play against Gomel (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
