Regular Season Round 3: Zagreb - Duga 62-67

Rather expected game when Croatian Zagreb (0-3) was defeated at home by Serbian Duga (2-1) 67-62 on Wednesday. Zagreb trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 21-12 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 62-67 at the end of the game. Duga forced 23 Zagreb turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Olga Stepanovic (180-1994) who scored 25 points. American forward Courtney Cleveland (178-1999, college: SHSU) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Lea Miletic (184-1995) who recorded 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals and center Lea Marsic (184-2003) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Zagreb's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Duga will meet Montana (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Zagreb will play against Play Off in Sarajevo and hopes to get finally their first victory.
