Regular Season Round 5: Pruszkow - Poznan 56-88
Date: October 26, 2022
Poznan's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Pruszkow, where they outplayed Pruszkow (0-5) 88-56 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Pruszkow 49-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Alecia Sutton (173-1998, college: Texas) nailed 16 points and 8 assists for the winning side and her fellow American import forward Maya Dodson (191-1999, college: Notre Dame) accounted for 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Poznan players scored in double figures. Magdalena Parysek-Bochniak (182-1989) came up with 14 points and guard Weronika Papiernik (174-1998) added 7 points respectively for Pruszkow in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Poznan went down to ninth position due to points difference, which they share with Bydgoszcz. It was Pruszkow's fifth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Poznan will meet higher ranked Lublin (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pruszkow will play against Wroclaw (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
