The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Forssan Alku's (2-4) home victory over bottom-ranked Catz Lappeenranta (0-6) 109-75 on Friday. The game without a history. Forssan Alku led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Silja Viita (185-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Jade Vega (165-1997, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Forssan Alku's coach Juri Heinamaki felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Raziyah Farrington (173-1997, college: Charleston) who recorded 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Elli Heikkila (181-2002) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Forssan Alku moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Pyrinto. Loser Catz Lappeenranta still closes the standings with six games lost. Forssan Alku will meet higher ranked Espoo Team (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Catz Lappeenranta will play against Tampereen Pyrinto (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
