No shocking result in a game when Etoile Angers (2-1) beat at home Aix-Maurienne (0-3) 85-77 on Friday. Etoile Angers forced 25 Aix-Maurienne turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Akaemji Williams (175-1996, college: LSSU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists. Swingman Stephan Gauthier (192-1995) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Swingman Corentin Falcoz (192-2002) came up with 21 points and Dominican-Spanish power forward Juan Garcia (201-1989) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Aix-Maurienne in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Etoile Angers will meet La Rochelle (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Aix-Maurienne will play against Chalons-Reims and hopes to get finally their first victory.
