There was no surprise when 9th ranked Melilla (2-3) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Clavijo (4-1) 90-72 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American swingman Andre Norris (203-1994, college: Dubuque) who scored 19 points. Nigerian-American guard Rob Ukawuba (191-1994, college: NJIT) chipped in 18 points. Four Clavijo players scored in double figures. Croatian swingman Matija Bilalovic (199-1997, agency: Promo Sport ID) produced 21 points and point guard David Orrit (185-2000) added 8 points respectively for the hosts. Melilla's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Clavijo. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Algeciras and Benicarlo. Loser Melilla dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with 7 other teams. Clavijo will meet at home Talavera (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Melilla will play against Zamora and hope to secure a win.
