Regular Season Round 2: Olimpi - Delta 62-79

Olimpi recorded a loss in Tbilisi. Hosts were defeated by Delta 79-62. It looked good early as Olimpi took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Delta had a 22-17 second period charge getting the lead and Olimpi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-79. Delta dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpi's 28. American guard Avi Toomer (190-1997, college: Bucknell) notched 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international point guard Otar Pkhakadze (188-1993, college: Simpson, CA) supported him with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Toomer is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Delta players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Linton Acliese III (198-1998, college: EWU) did not help to save the game for Olimpi. The former international power forward Giorgi Turdziladze (210-1997) added 15 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Delta will play against Batumi on the road in the next round. Olimpi will play against Kutaisi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
