Regular Season Round 6: Al-Qazeres - Lima-Horta 64-65

The most exciting game of round 6 in the LF Challenge took place in Caceres. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-best Al-Qazeres (4-2) to ninth ranked Lima-Horta (3-2) 65-64 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al-Qazeres. Strangely Al-Qazeres outrebounded Lima-Horta 48-31 including a 24-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for center Olga Ruano (191-1988) who saved her team from a defeat with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Center Paula Tutusaus (190-1990) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Lima-Horta's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Gedna Capel (185-2002) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and forward Celia Garcia-Panuero (180-1995, college: UIW) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Al-Qazeres. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lima-Horta moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Joventut and Estepona. Al-Qazeres at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Lima-Horta is looking forward to face higher ranked Paterna (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Al-Qazeres will play against Ardoi and is hoping to win this game.
