No shocking result in a game in San Cristobal where seventh ranked Ensino (3-2) defeated bottom-ranked Tenerife (1-4) 74-70 on Saturday. Ensino made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Paula Ginzo (187-1998) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Blanca Millan (185-1998, college: Maine) who added 18 points (made all of her nine free throws !!!) during the contest. Four Ensino players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Aisha Sheppard (175-1998, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Green Sports Management) responded with 25 points and guard Gabriela Ocete (170-1988) scored 4 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ensino moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Tenerife lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with four games lost. They share it with Cadi La Seu. Ensino will meet at home Valencia (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tenerife will play against Cadi La Seu (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
