Date: October 29, 2022
BLNO top team - Gimle (10-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Nidaros Jets (2-9) in Tromdheim 98-58. Gimle dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Nidaros Jets' 36. Gimle forced 27 Nidaros Jets turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gimle made 10 blocks. The former international point guard Reidar Greve (184-2002) notched 21 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort and the former international swingman Espen Fjaerestad (193-1994, college: UW-Parkside) supported him with 17 points and 4 assists. Four Gimle players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by forward Tor Ringen (201) did not help to save the game for Nidaros Jets. Mateusz Nilsen (188-2001) added 16 points and 8 rebounds. Nidaros Jets' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-1 record. Loser Nidaros Jets keep the tenth place with nine games lost. Gimle will meet at home bottom-ranked Asker Aliens (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nidaros Jets will play against Fyllingen and hope to secure a win.
